Gmail Source Header Exporter
Extract and export message headers and download .eml/.txt exports from your Gmail message sources for forensic or reporting purposes.
What this app does
The Gmail Source Header Exporter accepts a raw message source (RFC-822) or connects to your account (with consent) to extract selected headers (From, To, Subject, Date, Message-ID, Received, DKIM signatures, etc.) and produce downloadable exports (.eml/.txt or ZIP). It is intended for administrators, deliverability analysts and security staff who need to inspect email headers.
How it works (simple)
- You authenticate using your Google account (OAuth).
- The app requests only the scopes listed below and uses them solely to read message metadata or a pasted message source you provide.
- You select which headers to export; the app returns a modified .eml/.txt file or ZIP for download.
Data accessed & why
- Google account info (profile & email) — used for sign-in and to identify the connected account.
- Gmail scopes (example) — If you connect via Gmail API, we request only
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly
(read-only message data) orhttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.metadata
(headers/metadata only). We do not modify or send mail. - Pasted raw message source — If you paste an RFC-822 source into the tool, we process it in your browser/server session to extract headers.
We do not: send mail on your behalf, publish your mailbox contents, or share your data with third parties except as required by law. Exports are provided to you directly for download.
Typical user flow
- Click “Sign in with Google”.
- Grant the requested permission(s) shown in the OAuth consent screen.
- Use the extractor UI to select headers and export the result.
